VH1 You Ought to Know Artists

Finally, at long last, VH1 has been promoting some great new artists.  I thought the music industry was dead, but apparently, it is not.  VH1 has been promoting artists like The Civil Wars, Raphael Saadiq, and Fitz and the Tantrums.

I highly recommend searching for this artists on Youtube and listening to their music.  They are really awesome.  If you want to find all in one place, you can click on:

Green Bean Fries at Home!

While going through the Walmart paper today, I made an amazing discovery - you can now buy TGIF's Fried Green Bean Fries in the frozen food section.  You can actually bring these home and have a dinner from Friday's everyday without actually having to go there.  What a great discovery!

Of course, I was aware of a number of TGIF treats being sold in the frozen food section.  I've been known to get carried away with their dip.  But now, the greatest appetizer of all time will be available any time I want from the freezer.  Awesome.  Just awesome.

Just how long has this wonderful food been available at Walmart?  Where are my friends when I need them?  This is important.  At least I now know about it and I can act on it.  Guess who's going to Walmart tomorrow?

Spring Quotes from Television

Without intending to do so, I've managed to collect a few quotes from different celebrities recently.  When I like a quote, I immediately write it in a notebook beside my bed.  Well, this spring has been especially entertaining, so I have a few to share:

"I believe in ghosts and bad luck.  I'm Italian."  Lady Gaga

"As the face gets worse, the clothes have to get better."  Steve Martin

"I expose people to magic.  That's how I roll."  Charlie Sheen

Did you think you could have a "greatest quotes" section without Charlie Sheen?  I think not!  Celebrities are always entertaining, so I thought I would share these quotes to keep you entertained as well.

Hot Pocket!

What kind of couch potato blog would this be without a Hot Pocket discussion?  Hot Pockets are an amazing food.... ummm... option?  Hot Pockets is basically a pot pie with some food in the center.  You can find Hot Pockets with anything from meatballs to cheese and broccoli in the middle.  They've even stepped it up and added "chef inspired" Hot Pockets.  Sorry to say this, but I can't imagine that anything inside a Hot Pocket is really chef inspired, but what do I know?

What makes the Hot Pocket so appealing is how easy it is to cook one.  You just take the Hot Pocket, insert it in the cardboard cooking sleeve, and pop it into the microwave for 2 minutes.  It is perfect for people on the go.  It is also wonderful for work.  You can by a box of Hot Pockets and keep them in the freezer at work in case you don't have anything else to eat and run out of money.  You can even buy Lean Pockets if you want a "healthier" option.  Also, they are really affordable, too.

I am not trying to trash talk the Hot Pocket.  I know people do enjoy them and they don't just keep them for desperate times.  One just has to be in a certain mood for the Hot Pocket.  If you want one, I do highly recommend the cheese, chicken, and broccoli.  Yum!

I Declare It Lady Gaga Day!

Unless you've been under a rock, I am sure you already know Lady Gaga's new CD was released today.  The new CD is called "Born This Way" and many of us have waited a long time for it.  I myself stood in line at Target to get the special edition CD that was stashed behind the counter.

Since this is such a great day for Lady Gaga fans, I believe this should be Lady Gaga Day!  After all, FUSE is already playing a steady stream of Lady Gaga interviews, videos, and specials the entire day.  They are having the Gaga-athon.

I think all readers should celebrate this great day.  It is Lady Gaga Day for everyone!

Messin' With Sasquatch

If you are a true Couch Potato surely you have experienced the joy of the Jack Link's Jerky Messin' with Sasquatch commercials.  These are truly some of the best commercials out there.  Recently, I saw some new Messin' with Sasquatch commercials.  They usually air on cable channels.  So if you've never seen one before, pay attention when watching a Comedy Central or Syfy program.

For now, you can enjoy a nice assortment of clips from someone that was kind enough to create a Messin' with Sasquatch Youtube compilation video:

Make It a Nerdtacular Night!

Last night was a great night for dorks and nerds everywhere.  I was pretty excited to find out the Family Channel was making it a "Harry Potter Weekend" starting Thursday (last night).  A little while later, I was pleased to learn that The Matrix was on AMC.  Naturally, I was forced to switch back and forth between The Matrix and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.  I was pretty lucky considering the channels were running the commercials at different times.

Tonight, there will more Harry Potter movies on the Family Channel and more Matrix movies on AMC.  What a great Friday night.  I will probably sneak some Ghost Adventures viewing into tonight as well.  Wow!  What a dorktacular night!

Attack of the Paranormal Shows!

Anyone that knows me can tell you I am a big fan of everything paranormal.  I love reading books, watching movies, and watching TV shows about the paranormal.  Lately, there has been an increase in paranormal shows on TV.  Most specifically, there is an increase in paranormal reality shows.  All of this makes me quite happy.

I can literally sit all day long and watch a marathon of Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, or even better, my beloved Destination Truth.  I am hoping the popularity of these shows never goes away.  I am also hoping networks continue to run out of creative ideas for their schedules and instead run marathons for all of these shows.

If you would like to watch a ton of videos from these shows, please check out my lens "Ghostly Reality Shows" at Squidoo.

Thinking about Getting Romantic on the Couch...

Well, these really are not the songs for you.  However, if you are in a dysfunctional relationship, maybe these are the songs for you!  Why not investigate a list and music videos for the most dysfunctional love songs ever (in my opinion)!  You know you want to see the list: Love Songs for Dysfunctional People.

It is a bit of a work in progress.  So if you have any ideas, song suggestions, or comments, you can leave them here or on that page.  I am looking for dysfunctional songs, but not break up songs.  Thanks for reading

The Microwave Oven - A Couch Potato's BFF

Who wants to talk about food?  Bah.  Whatever.  I want to talk about food.  Whenever I am watching non-stop programs on TV, I feel the need to eat snacks.  Of course, there is no time to cook.  That would take away from my TV time.  I want to take some time to talk about everyone's friend: the microwave oven.

The microwave oven has been around for a few decades, so some people just do not appreciate it anymore.  I remember as a kid, not having a microwave oven.  That makes me sound old, doesn't it?  Never mind that sentence.  At any rate, you can put just about anything in the microwave and heat it up.  Sure, baking food or broiling food is never going to work in the microwave, but it takes like 1 minute to cook a meal, so there is no need to be picky about what the microwave can't do.

You can also watched things melt quickly or, if you don't mind a mess, you can even see an explosion.  What fun is that?  So I say, stop taking the microwave oven for granted.  It is wonderful!

It's Thursday

So... it's Thursday.  No, it is never as exciting as Friday, but we are one day closer.  In celebration of this almost nice day, I would like to share Conan O'Brien's song, "Thursday."  Of course, we all know Rebecca Black's song, "Friday," but why shouldn't we celebrate Thursday, too?  Conan is just the man to do that!  So let's all listen to "Thursday" since I can't get this song out of my head anyway.

5 Shows that Should Return to TV

You know, some people have major dreams in life.  Some people want to become president or end world hunger or find the cure for cancer.  I applaud these people.  People like that are ambitious and awesome.

Now, let's talk about me.  My dream in life is to see certain television shows come back to TV.  Yes, I know.  This not nearly as ambitious.  But I have a dream and I am sticking to it!

My top 5 shows I would like to see return to TV are:

Soap
The Gong Show
Twin Peaks
In Living Color
Carnivale

I even read someone's blog that stated there is a possibility Twin Peaks can come back with a new cast.  Gasp!  Holy crap, that's great!  Sometimes dreams to come true.  If you want to read more about my picks and maybe even watch some videos about it, you can visit: http://www.squidoo.com/top-5-tv-shows-i-believe-should-return-to-television

TruTV Comes to Comcast On Demand

OK, maybe I am just an idiot.  (No comments need to be posted for that statement, by the way.)  I've never noticed TruTV being available On Demand until last night.  Perhaps I was just missing it all along, but I don't believe it was there until now.
So I am excited.  One of my favorite shows is "World's Dumbest..."  My favorite of the World's Dumbest series is World Dumbest Criminals, but I also enjoy World's Dumbest Drivers, World's Dumbest Performers, and World's Dumbest Daredevils.  I guess I just enjoy watching dumb people.  Even better, I like watching people make fun of them.  So I am really excited about watching this show whenever I want.  Oh, happy days!

Ghost Adventures

Has anyone else noticed Ghost Adventures has taken over the Travel Channel?  Don't get me wrong - I watch the show.  There.  I just admitted to it.  I watch Ghost Adventures.  Is it the best show ever?  Of course not.  Do I believe half of what they show?  No, of course not.  Do I still watch it all the time.  Why, yes.  Yes I do.

What I would like to know is if the true fans of the Travel Channel ever get angry about this?  I've noticed Ghost Adventures has a mini-marathon every single Friday and Saturday night.  I know they do travel while filming this show.  However, it is not really a travel show.  If I want to sit back and learn more about the best resorts in Hawaii, I would think I could get that from the Travel Channel.  I do not expect to turn on the Travel Channel and watch 6 hours of ghost hunting.  That is all I am saying.  Now I need to run so I can go watch some more Ghost Adventures episodes On Demand.

Lady Gaga on MTV's Disaster Date

Even though I may not always admit it, yes, I do watch MTV's Disaster Date.  I love watching people torture their friends and set them up on this show.  What you may not know is Lady Gaga was on Disaster Date.  Yes, Lady Gaga in her pre-Gaga days with dark hair.  She was still known as Stefani at that time.  Don't believe it?  Check out the picture below!

I guess you could consider me one of Lady Gaga's "Little Monsters" and I saw a show about this on MTV.  Yes, the Disaster Date rumor is true.  Also, she had a guest spot on The Hills on MTV, too.  Lauren and Whitney were at one of her earliest concerts helping her design a look.  Wow, I watch too much MTV!

If you want to read more about Lady Gaga and read my rant about why she is not a man, you can check out my hub here: http://hubpages.com/hub/Lady-Gaga-is-not-a-man.  I will spare you the rant if you are reading this blog.

The Joys of Napping

OK, so having a blog about being a Couch Potato is pretty lame if we are not even going to cover the exciting topic of napping.  I am all about napping.  I think more people should be into it.

Sadly, I work at an office and napping is frowned upon.  I will admit, sometimes I sneak into an empty room on my lunch break and take a much needed nap.  I really think laws should be created so everyone can nap at work.  Lunch break and nap break times would be totally appreciated!

If you are at home right now and reading this, stop and go take a nap.  Please, do it for me!

Whitest Kids U'Know

So apparently, I have been missing out on one of the greatest sketch comedy shows ever.  I stumbled upon this music video one night while watching something on IFC...

I thought, "Where has this show been all my life?"  As it turns out, it has been on IFC.  It is even On Demand.  It just goes to show there are really cool shows out there and you may never know about them.  So now I am hooked on this show.  They have an ungoing weekly skit called The Civil War on Drugs.  Now I can't wait for the next installment!

So if you are into sketch comedy, this is the show for you.  Do not miss it - Fridays at 10:30!
