The Return of Destination Truth

Finally, at long last, the premiere of the 5th season of Destination Truth aired on Tuesday night.  I am a die hard Destination Truth fan, and I was really excited to see it return.  A Destination Truth marathon aired, and then 2 new back-to-back episodes were shown.

If you are a fan of Destination Truth, I do hope you continue to watch the show when it first airs.  The show has not been getting the ratings it needs on Syfy channel.  It almost did not return this season.  If you are a fan, please make sure to view it each week to show your support.

The episodes that aired on Tuesday certainly did not disappoint.  I've already gotten to see Josh fall in a river, get swept away with the current, fling himself off a bike into more water, and see Evan (a camera man from the past) return and have blood run out of his ear.  Seriously, why is anyone NOT watching these shows?  You just can't get this kind of entertainment anywhere else.

I do hope should the show ever be cancelled, perhaps another channel would pick it up.  It is an entertaining show and I feel it would do well on other channels.  Personally, I believe the Travel Channel should grab the show if they ever have a chance.  After all, Josh and his crew go all over the world.  They even go to countries I've never heard of before.  It would be perfect.  Instead of showing episodes of Ghost Adventures all night on Fridays and Saturdays, Destination Truth could take over one night.  I would be more than happy to fall asleep while watching Josh Gates.  Just saying.

Travel Channel's Paranormal Challenge

Hey, wait a minute... did hell just freeze over and no one told me?  The Travel Channel is giving Zak from Ghost Adventures his own show?  Or even more shocking, another show?!?!

Yes, the rumors are true.  Zak Bagans of Ghost Adventures is going to host a new show called Paranormal Challenge.  Yes, I am amazed as well.  My best guess would be the Travel Channel is trying to compete with the Syfy Channel and its numerous Ghost Hunters spinoffs.  So yes, if you are a fan of Zak, brace yourself - you can watch him even more than ever before.  If you are not a Zak fan, eh, guess you are out of luck.  It is time to change the channel.

Paranormal Challenge premieres on the Travel Channel on Jue 17th. So yes, as much as I poke fun, I will be watching it probably right along with everyone else.  Here is a sneak peak:

Ghost Adventures

Has anyone else noticed Ghost Adventures has taken over the Travel Channel?  Don't get me wrong - I watch the show.  There.  I just admitted to it.  I watch Ghost Adventures.  Is it the best show ever?  Of course not.  Do I believe half of what they show?  No, of course not.  Do I still watch it all the time.  Why, yes.  Yes I do.

What I would like to know is if the true fans of the Travel Channel ever get angry about this?  I've noticed Ghost Adventures has a mini-marathon every single Friday and Saturday night.  I know they do travel while filming this show.  However, it is not really a travel show.  If I want to sit back and learn more about the best resorts in Hawaii, I would think I could get that from the Travel Channel.  I do not expect to turn on the Travel Channel and watch 6 hours of ghost hunting.  That is all I am saying.  Now I need to run so I can go watch some more Ghost Adventures episodes On Demand.
